Gavin Riches and Team AutoQuest win their class and
take second place overall in the 2007 Targa New Zealand!
Longtime AutoQuest owner, Gavin Riches, shipped his rally-prepped 2007 Porsche
GT3 RS on an 8,000-mile journey to New Zealand in fall 2007 for Targa New Zealand competitions,
where he finished first in class and second overall in 2007, then first in class and third overall in 2008.

Zealand, Team AutoQuest plans to compete in Australia, Mexico and Canada.
One of only a handful of GT3 RSs in New Zealand, AutoQuest’s race-prepped
example has been built with the intention of making the already very capable
road car as competitive as possible for this upcoming event. According to
Riches, setting this car up for a road-rally was a big challenge due to
the fact that AutoQuest is one of the first companies to prepare a US-spec GT3
RS for a serious race. This New Zealand native has competed in the 6-day Dunlop
Targa twice before and while driving a Porsche Carrera S in the 2005 event,
Gavin scored a respectable 9th overall finish (out of a 170-car field), despite
suffering some mechanical difficulties during the event.
